For efficient cooling the chassis includes 4 x120 CFM high performance fans. It comes with an exchangeable IO- Shield and a massive Aluminium top cover for cooling purposes. For Platforms with TDP's of up to 20 Watts the top cover can be replaced by a heatsink. The case series PanelPC 2 was developed specially for PanelPC and/or display and control systems. The case is typically used in industrial environments. The display frame out of massive aluminium can be used for display sizes from 10.1" up to 21.5" and can as well be adjusted for different kinds of cover glass. The case is primarily designed for the usage of PCAP-Touches. Through a two-piece chassis concept in layer construction an easy and variable mounting is possible. The rear hood, made of stainless steel can be individually adjusted to the required computing platform. The passive cooling system of the case allows the application of computing platforms with the most diverse form factors (eg. 3.5" SBC) with a TDP of max. 25 watt.

"The SMC3 is a modified version of the system monitoring board SMC2 and has been significantly improved in terms of functionality and usability. Among others, it is for example used in VME and CPCI systems, where it intelligently controls the system fans. Thanks to intelligent control algorithms, it combines maximum cooling performance with minimum noise. The SMC3 has a wide operating voltage range of 5 to 36VDC and five digital inputs and outputs (open collector). A special feature is its ability to monitor and control up to six fans divided into three groups. It is also used to monitor up to eight system voltages and up to eight temperatures, which is particularly essential for use in high-performance systems.

VME64x is an upgrade of the VME64 standard and it permits 64-bit data transmission. The new features include enhanced 160-pin P1/J1 and P2/J2 connections, optional 95-pin (2-mm hardmetric P0/J0 connection) for more user-defined I/O, +3.3V and additional performance.

The VMEbus specification (ANSI/VITA 1-1994) has been developed for 19" racks and supports bus sizes up to 21 slots. The J1 backplane 3U (16 bit) supports all data and control signals and thus functions as an independent backplane. The J2 backplane (3U) complements the J1 backplane in the system to provide a higher transmission rate (32Bit). The "Mono" backplane (6U) enables fast assembly and easy power supply. It combines the J1 and the J2 backplanes into one unit. Bus termination can be selected from active and passive as well as daisy chain.
