“The double pole DC contactor C294 can switch on and carry high currents. It was designed for switching frequently under load. Thanks to an optimised design, the C294 achieves a rated insulation voltage of 1,500 volts in a compact design.
In order to control switching arcs safely, design A possesses blowout magnets, arcing chambers and quenching plates. Using an auxiliary switch, the contact state can be reported to the higher-level control system.
Developed for use in transport technology, the C294 can be used in a wide range of DC applications – even in extreme temperatures of minus 40 to plus 70 degrees Celsius. This is an especially reliable piece of switchgear with a longer-than-average electrical service life.”
